How to avoid the Gatwick Airport Drop Off charge

Dropping off at Gatwick

Gatwick Airport has introduced a Gatwick airport drop off charge of £5 to drop off your passengers at the designated drop off zones at the North and South Terminals. Be sure to check which terminal your passengers are flying from to ensure they are at the right terminal. Gatwick Airport only has two terminals, North and South. There are however ways to get around the Gatwick airport drop off charge.

Gatiwck Aiport recommends using their Short Stay Car Park to drop off as it tends to take longer. This is £5 for up to 30 minutes and gives you extra time.

Gatwick Airport Drop Off Charges

These prices are for dropping off at Gatwick directly in front of either North or South Terminals.

  • £5 for 10 minutes stay
  • £1 for each additional minute up to 20 minutes
  • There is a Maximum charge of £25
  • The maximum length of stay is 30 minutes

Gatwick Airport Drop Off Free

For those that do not want to pay the Gatwick drop off charge, you can drop off and pick up passengers at Gatwick airport’s long stay car park where you will get two hours of free parking.

The driver will need to follow signs to either North Terminal Long Stay or South Terminal Long Stay depending on which terminal your passengers are flying from.

Your passengers will then get the free shuttle bus to the terminals.

You can pay your charge by phone by calling 0330 174 4503 this is an automated payment line.

Gatwick Airport drop off autopay

You can register your vehicle before you drop off and it will automatically charge you after each visit. I would highly recommend this to avoid the PCN (parking charge notice) fine of £100.

Gatwick Airport Drop Off Payment Online

If you have gone through the Gatwick drop off zone at the forecourt, you will need to pay before midnight the day after your visit to Gatwick Airport. You can make payments through this site.

Forgot to pay Gatwick Drop Off Charge

You will have until midnight the day after your visit to pay the Gatwick drop off zone charge.

If you forget you will be charged through the Parking Charge Notice (PCN). The fine is £100 reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.

Where is the North Terminal Drop Off?

The North Terminal drop off area at Gatwick Airport is on the lower level between the Sofitel and the multi-storey car park and is signposted from the approach roads.

The South Terminal drop off area at Gatwick Airport is located on the lower level and is signposted from the approach roads.

Pay Gatwick Drop Off

Gatwick Airport charges £5 for a 10-minute stay to drop off passengers. You can either set up an autopay on your account before you drop off or pay for the charges after. You only have until midnight the day after you drop off at Gatwick to pay before you are fined. You can pay here.
