Can you drop off at Luton Airport?

Yes, there are two ways that you can drop off at Luton Airport. The most convenient is to pay for the Luton Airport Drop Off which drops passengers right outside the terminal. The other option is to park for free and for the passengers to get a shuttle bus to the terminal.

Luton Airport mid stay car park is just 600 metres away from the terminal. For 30 minutes it will cost you £4.

Luton Airport Long Stay Car Park

For stays longer than 15 minutes, the long stay car park at Luton Airport offers a free parking option. It also has a free shuttle bus to the terminal (which takes around 10 minutes). All the shuttle buses at Luton are fully accessible. This is the best way to drop off at Luton Airport.

If you stay longer than 2 hours the full day rate will be applied and there is no return within 4 hours.

London Luton Airport Drop Off Electric Vehicles Charges

Luton Airport is making an effort to become more sustainable by encouraging the use of electric vehicles. From 5th January 2021 electric vehicle drivers will pay just £1 drop off at Luton Airport charge for up to 30 minutes. Electric vehicle drivers must park in the dedicated electric vehicle space situated at Terminal Car Park 1 on Level 2. They would need to validate their parking ticket by heading to the priority parking office on level 2.

Do note that this is for electric vehicles only and not hybrids. If you stay for longer than 30 minutes you will not receive the discount and it will not be applied if you do stay for longer. There is also a maximum of eight hours to charge your vehicle in the bays.

For passengers who can be dropped off within the 10 minute time frame and do not need to leave their vehicle unattended, there is disabled parking available. Luton Airport Express

Luton Airport Express is a train that takes you to central London. Train tickets from Luton Airport to London is from £10 for a single or £20 for a return. The Luton Airport Express has no booking fees.

If you know your dates of travel it will be beneficial to book in advance for a cheaper ticket. You can book tickets up to 12 weeks in advance. If you book later it will be cheaper to book an off-peak or a super off-peak ticket if you do not require to travel during peak times.

The fastest way to get from Luton Airport to London is to hop on the Luton DART for a 4-minute ride to Luton Airport Parkway. From there it is a 21-minute journey to London St Pancras International.

Thameslink to Luton Airport

Get to Luton Airport from London with the Thameslink in around 41 minutes. It has direct routes to over 50 stations and can come up to 8 times per hour.

National Express Coach

Get to Luton airport from London in under 50 minutes with the National Express Coach. It runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and has four departures every hour in the daytime.

There are two routes to choose from:

  • A1 – runs from London Victoria Coach Station, calling at Victoria Rail Station, Marble Arch, Portman Square, Baker St, St John’s Wood, Finchley Rd, Finchley Rd & Frognal Underground Stn and Golders Green.
  • A2 –  A2 service runs from London Paddington Station via Baker Street and calls at the same stops as the A1 to London Luton Airport.

Green Line

The Green Line coach 757 goes from Victoria Coach Station twice every hour throughout the day. Stops include Marble Arch, Baker Street, Finchley Road and Brent Cross.

If you would like to park for a while it is cheaper to use the terminal car park 1.

  • It is a 4-minute walk to the terminal (you will need to cross the link bridge)
  • £9.50 for 30 minutes of parking
  • On Floors 0 and 1 there is disabled parking
