Skyscanner
I personally love two features on Skyscanner they are the monthly price chart which shows flight prices for each month and then if you are spontaneous like myself you don’t even know where you want to go and you can click on the “explore” tab and see what tickles your fancy.
kiwi.com
The biggest advantage of Kiwi is that it shows you all the cheapest possibilities of flights which includes mixing flights on different airlines. This is by far the best feature especially if like me you are always on a budget.
Momondo
Momondo looks completely different to all the other apps above and I love the colours they have used. I love that when you look at a flight it will tell you the cheapest, best and quickest flights with the prices included.
Kayak
The Kayak app has an inbuilt flight tracker, airport gate information and price alerts (just in case they change.) I love that you can book through Kayak without it forwarding onto external sites.
Accommodation
Booking.com
Booking.com is great for comparing hostels and they have a great range of different ones. This app offers many filters so you can get your perfect accommodation.
Agoda
Agoda is very similar to booking.com where it has a wide range of hostels to compare. I have found Agoda to be slightly cheaper than booking.com so I would check both to compare the prices.
Hotels.com
hotels.com is a site that I have used the least which is why I have placed it at the bottom of this list. I usually check hotels.com after I have found a hostel that I like the look of to compare prices.
Hostelworld
Hostelworld is an app that has a huge range of hostels from all over the world. They have the best price guarantee where if you find a better price on another site, Hostelworld will refund you the difference.
Transport
GetTransfer.com
For private transfers to and from your hotel.
12Go
12 Go is particularly good in Asia to book public transport tickets.
Holiday Taxis
Holiday Taxis offer up to 24 hour free cancellation and have private or shared transfers availbale.
Expedia
Did you know that Expedia also offers transfers as well as flights and hotels. You could book it all through the same site.

Get Your Guide
Get Your Guide as a wide range of day trips and things to do. I use Get Your Guide a lot for booking trips.
Viator
Viator is another booking platform for day trips and ideas of what to do in places.
Trip Advisor

American Express
I would highly advise getting a credit card for bigger purchases such as flights. I have the American Express British Airways Platinum Card (as I have frequent flyer status with BA.) If you are new to Amex, if you use my link we both get bonus Avios. You can also get another American Express card if this one isn’t suitable.
Vrgin Money Credit Card
If you fly with Virgin Atlantic a lot then the Virgin Atlantic Credit Card may be for you. There is a free version and a paid version. I would say the paid version is better if you can afford the annual fee.
Starling Bank
Starling is a digital bank which is super easy to set up and use. They also offer a free business account as well. It has no foreign exchange fee.

Revolut
Revolut allows you to exchange and hold different currencies in the app. This is particular handy if the exchange rate is good.
It uses interbank exchange rate.
Monzo
Monzo is another digital bank which offers non ferign exchange fess, round up feature, ports to save your money and you also invest with them.

Curensea
Currensea is different as it is connected to your UK bank account. Essentially you purchase through currensea (in a different currency) and it takes your money in GBP from your UK bank account ie HSBC. This allows you to save on the 2.99% most UK banks charge for using your card abroad.
Wise
Wise, you can hold money in 40+ currencies, and convert between them at the real exchange rate whenever you need. It’s free to sign up, and there are no monthly fees.
Essentials
ESims
For those of you who have no idea what an ESim is is an electronic sim that allows you to use Data, Calls and Texts while you are abroad. You add it onto your phone and you can switch between your UK and ESim at any time. Please check that your phone accepts ESims before you purchase. Esims providers have various days ie 7 days/30 days and also the amount of data 7GB/10GB. You therefore need to choose which one is suitable for you. Most ESims offer data only however some do have calls and texts as well (if that is what you need).
Both Airalo and Nomad ESims featured below I have used personally myself. I would say check both out and see which has the best deal for you in regards to how much data you need and how long you are travelling for.
Airalo
One of the most popular ESim providers and for good reason. They have great coverage and great customer service. Set up is very easy and they have a range of plans available.
Nomad
A lesser-known ESim provider but still very good. If you only need a data plan for a day, Nomad has better deals. For 25% off your first purchase use “HOLL23WL”
